Carolyn Novello is Manager, IT Policy, Risk and Assurance in Information Technology Services at The University of Queensland. Her role sits across policy, risk, assurance and delivery, with a focus on how governance actually plays out for the people doing the work.

She works with committees, practitioners and assurance teams to turn governance expectations into things that are clearer, more usable and easier to work with. Carolyn is particularly interested in how governance documents and assurance processes are experienced in practice, and how small changes to language, structure and approach can make a real difference.
