Sasenka Abeysooriya is a strategist and executive leader recognised for translating visionary goals into evidence-based strategies and measurable outcomes. As Program Director, Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives at The University of Queensland, he leads transformative work spanning cyber security, data governance, and artificial intelligence across UQ and AUSCERT.
Globally acknowledged in corporate strategy and data governance, Sasenka has developed frameworks adopted by public and private sector organisations worldwide, including the Queensland Government, that continue to inform national policy on information management, risk, and AI governance. His peer-reviewed research further underscores his thought leadership in operationalising governance frameworks for real-world challenges.
Sasenka is also a passionate advocate for social impact, having spearheaded The Queensland Commitment to increase higher education equity for underrepresented students, and serving as a non-executive director at World Wellness Group. He holds degrees in Economics and Finance, Information Technology, and International Relations.”
