Service Management CoP Chair, University of the Sunshine Coast

Steve Furraway is an IT service management leader with more than 20 years’ experience in operational support, service delivery and team leadership in higher education. He has extensive experience across Service Desk and client support operations, service improvement, incident and change management, knowledge management, and the practical adoption of new technologies to improve customer experience and team effectiveness.

Steve is passionate about making IT services easier, smarter and more human-centred, with a strong focus on helping teams grow and thrive through change. He has chaired the QUDIT Service Management Community of Practice for the past four years, helping foster collaboration and shared learning across the sector. Steve brings a practical, people-focused perspective to emerging technologies, including AI in service management, autonomous operations, and the future of support.
