Chief Information Officer, The University of Queensland

Zoran is a dedicated digital leader with more than 25 years of senior leadership experience in digital strategy, information technology, and transformation within the higher education sector. He brings a strong track record of delivering large-scale digital initiatives that enhance institutional capability, improve user experience, and align technology with strategic priorities. 

Most recently, Zoran served as Chief Information Officer at the Australian National University, where he led digital programs to achieve strategic outcomes and prior to that was the Chief Digital Officer at Griffith University, where he was instrumental in modernising systems and digital capabilities to support teaching and research priorities. 

Zoran is recognised for his authentic and empowering leadership style, his commitment to collaboration, and his ability to foster inclusive, high-performing teams. His expertise spans cloud transformation, cybersecurity, Agile delivery, and enterprise system modernisation across learning, finance, HR, and research domains. 

He has also contributed to formulating digital strategies/services through leadership roles with the Victorian Directors of IT, the Queensland University Directors of Information Technology, AARNet, and the Australian Higher Education Cyber Security Service (AHECS) and currently is a board member of the Australian Access Federation. 

Zoran is passionate about the role of technology as a driver of innovation in research, education, and community engagement. He is excited to join the University of Queensland community and to work with colleagues across the University to provide world-class research and education.
