What happens when you stop designing for students and start designing with them? Queensland University of Technology is reimagining how digital services are designed by embedding students as co-creators from the very beginning. The results are reshaping not just our platforms, but our approach to digital experience.

QUT’s User Experience Centre of Excellence has made it a mission to put students at the heart of our digital transformation journey. Through journey mapping, surveys, and design thinking workshops, we have invited students to co-design the services they use every day and they’ve shown up with insights, energy, and ideas that challenge the status quo.

From transforming the QUT Mobile App to reimagining how students access our HiQ service points, we’ve proven that co-designing is a blueprint for outcomes that really matter.

By embedding co-design into our transformation journey, we’re building a culture of continuous improvement where students are not just consulted but empowered to shape the systems they use every day.

This session will share what we’ve learned, what’s worked (and what hasn’t) and why we believe the future of digital experience is student powered.
