This Birds of a Feather session is an open, community-led discussion facilitated by AARNet’s technical and Customer Relations teams. It is designed to bring together university network and infrastructure managers to share experiences, compare approaches, and learn from each other.

We’ll start with a short update on AARNet5 and current network initiatives to frame the discussion, then open the conversation to the room. Topics will be shaped by participants, but may include network diversity options, eduroam, DDoS protection, high-capacity connectivity (including 100G and beyond), regional fibre builds, and end-to-end project delivery.

The focus is on institutional realities — what’s working, what’s not, and where trade-offs are being made. There will also be an opportunity to explore common challenges and identify areas where greater alignment or collaboration across the sector could add value.

If you’re responsible for network strategy, investment or delivery within your institution, this session offers a chance to have a candid, experience-based conversation with peers.
