AI is rapidly becoming embedded in organisations, creating new security, governance, and risk challenges for both management and security teams. While AI can introduce business opportunities and strengthen defensive capability, it also introduces threat vectors and control gaps which adversaries are exploiting at speed and at scale.

This workshop introduces participants to the key security risks associated with AI systems and how emerging standards, including ISO/IEC 42001:2023, are shaping best practice for responsible and secure AI use. Drawing on real world implementation experience, JP Haywood will connect AI security concerns to familiar governance and information security concepts.

Participants will gain:

  • A shared understanding of common AI risks and related security issues, from data leakage and model misuse to supply chain and governance risks.
  • Insight into emerging AI standards and how ISO/IEC 42001 complements existing security and risk management frameworks.
  • Practical considerations and control approaches for securing AI implementations without slowing innovation.

The session is designed to provide attendees with actionable talking points and next steps they can apply within their own organisations.
